THE MIDNIGHT STORY
THE MISSION
SIMPLE VISION • STABLE FOUNDATIONS • STRONG TEAM.
The mission at MIDNIGHT is as clear as a cloudless night.
"To create the fundamentals of a lasting scene from which a new generation of riders will emerge that explore the limits of what is possible on a Streetboard"
A simple vision that will take the efforts, strategy & experience of the best Streetboarding has to offer.
From the founders to pro team to the growing Tomorrow Squad applicants.
After years of meticulous planning.
IT'S TIME. IT'S MIDNIGHT.
A PRECISE TIME.
ONE PROMISE• THREE FOUNDERS• TWENTY EIGHT YEARS
OUR STORY STARTS MANY MIDNIGHT'S AGO BACK IN 1994 CAMDEN, LONDON.
Thirty-One Years ago Stef Tribe & Jay Nowman, two of our Co-founders already knew each other through Swimming on the same team.
In the March of that year, Jay got his first streetboard. Weeks later Stef follwed suit.
What followed was a lifetime bond that has spawned many projects, flatshares and its fair share of MIDNIGHT SESSIONS.
The MIDNIGHT mission means so much to us because that we hope on the way to achieving it many more lifetime connections like the ones we made will flourish.
Streetboarding isn't for everyone. It attracts those that have a quiet confidence that they will be able to tackle the challenge. They are not slaves to trends or need the approval of their peers. If Streetboarding is for you, the chances are you'll find others like you in this, our worldwide family.

The ramps that were built for the contest ended up being installed in the brand new then named
"Playstation" skatepark now known as Bay 66. Kickstarting probably one of teh most influential skateparks in the world.
"This collection of photos taken by one of the biggest names in the sport in the 1990's: Victor Murstig. At the time one of our idols. Now lucky enough to call him a good friend.
They were taken at the 1996 Streetboard World Championships in London, UK. Attending that with Stef had a huge impact on us.
Witnessing first hand what the rider's of the day could do. Then thinking this is just the beginning of exploring the potential of these boards."
ONE PROMISE
In 1997 Jay achieved his dream.
After living and breathing Streetboarding with Stef and the their first crew TEAM CHEeSE Jay won the UK Street title.
He set his sights on going pro and pushing street riding to explore where it could be taken.
Months later the founding brand of streetboarding, Snakeboard, ceased trading.
Overnight the dream turned at first into disbelief then
THE FOUNDERS
XII If you are seeing more than one JAY do not fear. It just means that we are still to announce that founder or their profile picture STILL isn't up to their liking XII
The MIDNIGHT founding team reads like a who's who in their respective fields within Streetboarding. You would be very hard pressed that their was a major project since 1998 that at least one of them had a finger in.

TWENTY EIGHT YEARS.
At the age of SIXTEEN Jay & Stef knew it wasn't the right time to launch their own Streetboard brand.
There were patents & trademarks to contend with.

Instead they launched a Streetboard Magazine. At first they went conservative with the title: Anal Toupee, distributing it in the USA and Germany and of course their home the UK.
TWO BECOME THREE
That magazine had an early phone number for Jay inside, when he used to actually pick up the phone.
Jay had taken on the task of organising and not competing in the UK championships in 1998.
An English accented Spaniard called from Spain to say he and his buddy were coming to enter.
ONE month later on a soggy cold London December night the English speaking Richie turned up under with his zero English speaking buddy.
Stef during this period has Penned the designs for some of the most iconic Streetboard designs over the years. From the much loved Highland cartel to bring in plastic trucks back for the real street riders with the SLT’s

ONE promised has been kept.
TWENTY EIGHT years later. It never felt like the right time to fulfil it until now.
It's time.
