THE MIDNIGHT STORY
A LONG TIME COMING
MIDNIGHT is not just a project.
Its the end of a cycle. A new day born of yesterday.
Headed up by Jay Nowman & Stef Tribe the journey to today is one that spans thirty three years and countless projects, influences & teachings.
The two thoroughbred Londoners, Camden Town raised, Hackney warehouse lived, have always had their ear to the underground.
No surprise given Streetboarding's against the odds survival and anti-hero staus within the action sports world.
They met at ten years old. At twelve they started Streetboarding. At fifteen they dropped their first Tee. At seventeen their first internationally distributed magazine. All before the dawn of the internet proper.

Their professional careers are both just as varied:
Jay through the world of luxury fashion, taking in six years at Louis Vuitton. Many more in the halls of Harrods, boutiques of Versace and the streets of Sloane & New Bond.
To taking the physical digital into ecom and launching with his sister The Wild Swim Store
Stef also ventured west to study at the Royal College of Art, heading back east a qualified architect. He switched to designing the biggest Rock and Rolls stages of them all at 'Stufish', before turning towards his long held goal of Art Directing in the movie industry.
A brand was always on the cards. It was a question of when.
When have they learnt enough to launch something meaningful.
When can they design a better Streetboard.
When is it right to channel years of London's influences?
From grime to grindcore. Late Soho nights at Cro Bar to Early 2000's Plastic People.
